(Chicago, IL) – Chicago businessman, Tommy Hanson, officially announced today his bid to become the next Congressman from Illinois 5th Congressional District. Tommy is running for Congress because he loves his community and believes in protecting Illinois values. Hanson intends to tackle crime issues on day one and believes in fiscal responsibility, full funding of law enforcement, and common-sense growth. Born in Chicago, Tommy was raised in the suburbs and moved back to the city over 35 years ago. Tommy has been a part of the fabric of the Chicago region his entire life and understands that the city needs a resurgence and more opportunities for success. Election day is Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
“Our great community is under siege and unfortunately our political leaders are mostly to blame. They must be replaced with common sense solutions such as fully funding and supporting our law enforcement agencies and pressuring our federal government to stop printing money which creates inflation and destroys our children’s future due to runaway spending and debt. I will proudly represent the 5th district to make our community safer, raise our quality of life and give future generations more hope”, said Hanson.
Always focused on the well-being of his family and those around him, Tommy has been
active in the community, working with people from every political and social spectrum of life and has given back at all levels. Tommy now wants to represent the 5th District in Congress. The Illinois 5th District includes Chicago, Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Lake Zurich, Barrington, Norridge, Lincolnwood, Elk Grove, and Arlington Heights in the counties of Cook and Lake.
The pressing issues that Tommy Hanson believes need to be addressed immediately are: Reducing Crime, Inflation, and Illegal Immigration so that everyone in the district can enjoy safe neighborhoods, operate their businesses with less regulations and be assured their tax dollars are being spent in a responsible manner.
“We live in the one of the greatest cities in the world, but our trains are half full, our taxes are sky high, and tourists are choosing other locations because of the runaway crime due to irresponsible political leaders. I hear your voices, I know your concerns and if you give me the honor to serve you, I will be a force for positive change in Congress,” Hanson said.
Tommy Hanson and his wife Gabrielle have been married for 18 years and have one daughter.
